A Week in Paradise

Came back from Ladakh trip a week back, but the memory of it is so vivid that it seems like yesterday.
Two words aptly describe the 10 day trip to paradise....breathtaking and backbreaking.
Breathtaking literally due to lack of oxygen and not so literally as the view simply took our breath away.
The journey was long and the roads were not so kind. We were left with back pain and headaches.
There were lots of firsts on this trip....First brush with snow, First look at the majestic Himalayas and Karakoram Ranges, First night out in a tent, Bathing in hot sulphur springs, First taste of Paragliding, Apple and Fig trees in full blossom, Biting cold in the passes, The grandeur and simplicity of the Gompas, Stranded on the banks of river Indus with no cellphone network, a flat tyre and no jack.
Our taste buds were subjected to maggie, rice and dal. We bore the wrath of torturing soundtracks all the way from Manali to Leh. The line went something like this "Tujhme aur teri yaad me fark hai itna, tu to bewaqt aati hai, yaad har waqt aati hai". We had to answer nature’s call in open fields and unclean makeshift loos, but who’s complaining.
Ten days and 1000 snaps later, I am still at a loss for words (other than backbreaking and breathtaking) to describe the experience called Ladakh.
